The Knights of Columbus of St. Peter Chanel in Roswell GA Announce a 5K Event to Support Local Charities

Roswell, GA – The Knights of Columbus of St. Peter Chanel Catholic Community in Roswell, GA (Council # 13217) announce a 5K chip-timed run/walk event to take place November 22, 2014. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for Special Olympics Georgia and the Knights of Columbus charities.

The November 22 event is open to all persons that wish to participate as either runners or walkers, advanced, intermediate or casual. The 5K event will begin at 8:00am that day with onsite check-in beginning at 7:00am. Those interested in participating may register online in advance at the 5K event website at https://5K.supportourprojects.com.

Chas Ratliff, the Grand Knight of the local Knights of Columbus council stated that “We are excited to be promoting a fund raising event for Special Olympics Georgia and the Knights of Columbus Charities. We believe that hosting a 5K event fits well with the spirit of Special Olympics and our desire to support charitable activities in our community.”

The 5K event is using the latest in fund raising technologies to develop donations for the charities supported by the event. Its website at https://5K.supportourprojects.com uses crowdfunding technologies and sponsor rewards to promote the event and to stimulate donations to the charities. Shawn Pinto, the director of the 5K event, added that “We expect the event to elevate awareness for our campaign to support the charities. We encourage people to visit the 5K event website to take advantage of some of the substantial rewards that sponsors are offering to persons that donate.”
